Reminding me of memes, gifs, and profile user images of our online selves but also an animal figure that is supposed to be us but not in real life it is interesting to see how Larva Labs created these characters to choose from. What do they look like, how will they be used and can people identify with them?

While reading the article I thought if you could make your own, what would that process look like? What are they used for and if they are computer-generated they do seem like a collectible item. With the little background on this topic, I wonder if these things are online-only, with there being now merch yes you can buy them on articles of clothing but what value do they hold other than being art?

The video enlightened me about what cryptocurrency is and how that works in our world today. I am not super familiar with it, but it’s amazing that so many people are actively using it and learning how that works. Also at the beginning of the zoom call learning what a nonfungible token is was fascinating in the sense that one token can be tracked. Also, have a higher value as it moves forward and used. Where I then thought about how a dollar bill can be tracked so that correlation was intresting to think about because this NFT cannot really be used in real life, and only online. My thoughts went on a tangent to then thinking about how many people know about this currency because it is only accessible to online users. How can someone get into NFTs if they don’t have the funds to get online and how does this community enlightened others to this database? Or how do they promote this online usage?

Near the end and how they talked about art and purchasing wall space but also being resourceful in this day and age. Buying a screen that projects 200 pieces is innovative but allows us to see multiple artworks for a fixed price. That definitely changed my view on how cryptocurrencies worked and how with our high usage of technology, this online exchange platform benefits a lot of people. I am still very skeptical of this way of valuing items, but I also have seen how successful bitcoin is and how our global market in the world responded.
