Exploratory Writing 3B

My thoughts initially go to my history growing up in the city, and what it’s meant to be an artist and a girl in Manhattan. Small reminders like a sticker with a quote empowers you. There is also the idea that everyone is doing them in NYC, you don’t have to take the criticism, there is no judgement and you can do you. Be yourself and not anyone else. With that the introduction makes me feel alive in the sense that I do miss that high energy of the city life and culture that comes with the sense that the city is busy and there are a billion things going on and you’re a small part of that.

I think that it's interesting that she brings up the fact that there is a digital remix of herself online. Where she can be herself, but a bit different and where she could explore who she truly is with anonymity.

Moving towards her definition of what the body means to her and others, the glitch embodies the fact that there is no standard and all forms are welcomed. With the call to action how has the body in social media or the online presence changed? Do these ideas still haunt the internet and will there always be a deep conversation pertaining to what a body should be like on the web.

With the nope poster and the definition with answers and a comment. It’s hard to hear from someone that this is their reality and that not everyone can view life from this point of view. Saying that they are a dying race in the art world, I don’t agree. There are many women that are empowered from today’s events. I hope that this woman no longer feels alone and that she is loved by a community because in our written history there is no history about these people. They are not mentioned, therefore deemed not important, but today’s culture is slowly changing that.

Half way through the reading Glitch states that there is a mention of how Google’s algorithm confused Black users with gorillas which are animals. I would not like to know people's responses with the Guerrilla Girls who fighted feminism. What similar outlooks on this topic are the same and what does Glitched have to say about it now?

Near the end the reading talks about a binary body and how glitch feminist want it to be a ghost. But how do we erase people’s thoughts and notions of what the body already is and how they already view it as. How do we make the human body like a cyborg with no gender at first. Is that possible?
